In 2004-2005, campus Conservatives at University of Guelph, launched an attempt to topple the Central Student Association (CSA) that started with a website called “CSAWatch.ca” to undermine the political work of the student union. Though no one took ownership over the website, a domain registration search conducted at the time revealed the site’s owner to be Harrison Ruess. At the time, Harrison was on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Youth Association.
The Guelph Conservative operative on the CSA board that year was Chris Bloom, who was doubling as a Director of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Campus Association.
In response to the concerted Conservative take-over attempt, humourous progressives at Guelph briefly ran a website called “CSAWatchWatch.ca.”
